James Franco Star And Director In Techno Color Sunglasses Video

Gucci is pleased to present the Techno Color Sunglasses video directed by actor and writer James Franco, who also stars in the short film. The video, launching worldwide in April 2014, conveys a sophisticated aesthetic, true to Gucci’s luxury codes, capturing the glamorous allure of the new eyewear collection. Shot at the legendary Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, the film features a charming game of seduction between James Franco and a beautiful woman, the model Natalia Bonifacci, with their eyes subtly intensified by the vivid shades of Gucci Techno Color sunglasses. The Gucci Techno Color eyewear capsule collection is a blend of sensuality and lightness, with a glam twist. Its linear and pure design is the result of a technology patented in the Eighties by Safilo Group and reinterpreted today in a new, lighter-than-ever version, enhanced by vibrant exotic colors: the utmost expression of the House’s fashion authority and technical expertise. Saturated lights underline the magic atmosphere of the Hollywood Hills, and the sunset hues are mirrored with magnificent reflection on the colourful lenses, elegantly highlighting the magnetic gazes between the protagonists. The Gucci Techno...

It Doesn’t Get More New York Than This!

It Doesn’t Get More New York Than This!

When it comes to fashion, culture, art and technology, New York City is number one — the focal point of the world. No other town is more beautifully diverse or richer in style and substance. And at the center of it all beats Central Park, the heart and soul of the city. 843 acres of amazing flora and fauna, tucked deep within a forest of glass and steel. Just another sublime contrast that is central to New York City. This is why Marchon has chosen Central Park to celebrate its rich, stylish and beautifully diverse MARCHONYC Eyewear collection. EASTSIDE, WESTSIDE, UPTOWN and DOWNTOWN — each series is individually unique but all come together in one special way: MARCHONYC Eyewear is proudly reflective of the life and style and look of New York City, typified by the eclectic mix of experiences that is Central Park. EASTSIDE Belvedere Castle. A castle in Central Park? That’s right. A fact not widely known. Originally designed in 1865, the castle is a fairy tale fantasy that stands against the harsh realities of the city. When you see it, you realize it is aptly named from the Italian, meaning “beautiful view”. When we think about the history of Belvedere Castle, we are reminded...

Modern Optical International Celebrates 40 Years in Eyewear

Modern Optical International Celebrates 40 Years in Eyewear

Value eyewear leader, Modern Optical International, marks its 40th Anniversary this year and reflects on four decades in the eyewear industry. Modern Optical fondly recalls its humble beginnings in 1974 that started in a modest square office space furnished with two desks, two phones, metal shelving for inventory, a six foot table to process orders, and a Rolodex of business cards. Its eyewear collection consisted of 20 styles displayed on an 11×14 flyer. All frames except two were metal; most had a double bridge. Customer orders were hand delivered on Fridays when Yale Weissman, the company’s co-founder and only sales rep, returned to the home office after a week in the field. He phoned in orders deemed urgent. This is how it all started. Over time, Modern broadened its frame selection, hired more sales reps, increased office staff, installed fax machines and bought a few computers. With immeasurable tenacity and sweat equity, the company grew each and every year, one optical office at a time. Today Modern Optical is an international company offering over 800 styles and a host of eyewear-related products as featured in this year’s 110-page catalog. Designs have come and gone...

Board of Directors of Safilo Group S.p.A. has today approved the Company’s consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31 December 20131 and examined the separate financial statements for the year ended 31 December 20131, which will be submitted for approval by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting to be held in single call on 15 April 2014. The Group ended 2013 with turnover at constant exchange rates very close to the figure for 2012, and grew adjusted EBITDA3margin by 110 bps. Also the fourth quarter again saw double-digit organic sales growth2, with strong performances across many of the eyewear business’s main markets, channels and brands. In 2013 Safilo saw a significant reduction in net debt and a substantial improvement in financial leverage, with the ratio of net debt to adjusted EBITDA3 falling to a record low for Safilo of 1.5 times. Most Physicians Likely to Incur More ICD-10 Implementation Costs, Study Reveals

Most Physicians Likely to Incur More ICD-10 Implementation Costs, Study Reveals

Physician practices will have to prepare for more ICD-10 implementation costs, according to an updated study initiated by American Medical Association (AMA) and conducted by Nachimson Advisors. The mandated implementation of ICD-10 will be considerably more expensive than what was predicted in a landmark study done by Nachimson Advisors in 2008. In some case, the ICD-10 implementation costs are nearly three times what had been predicted before, the study reads. “The markedly higher implementation costs for ICD-10 place a crushing burden on physicians, straining vital resources needed to invest in new health care delivery models and well-developed technology that promotes care coordination with real value to patients,” said AMA President Ardis Dee Hoven, M.D in the AMA news release. The costs are higher in the 2014 report owing to significant post-implementation costs, including the need for testing and the possible risk of payment disruption. CMS predicts that claims denial rates could increase 100 to 200 percent in the initial stages of coding with ICD-10. According to the 2008 report, the predicted cost to implement ICD-10 was $83,290 for a small practice, $285,195 for...
