Legacie is excited to introduce a new  group from our collection that was previewed at Vision Expo West – Intaglio: The Intaglio collection is influenced by the printing method from which it takes its name; this method utilizes an image that has been incised into a surface. The frames in the Intaglio eyewear group feature intertwining acetate links that have been created using thermoforming, a new molding technology.  The smooth edges of the classic link motif are decorated with hand-set genuine Austrian crystals which highlight the intricate hand craftsmanship needed to create these frames. The invitation-only “Optometry2020” gatherings are designed to discuss the state of the industry and to hear from optometrists about their business, as well as challenges and opportunities that they face and anticipate in an evolving independent optometric industry. NEW YORK—Preliminary unaudited attendance figures for International Vision Expo West, held last week at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, show a 9 percent increase in attendance from 2009, according to show organizers. A final complete third-party audit of the show will be available in approximately six weeks. “The attendance figures from this year’s show are above our pre-recession attendance figures from International Vision Expo West 2008,” said Tom Loughran, vice president for Reed Exhibitions. “It’s a great statement of confidence for the optical industry as a whole that there was such a strong showing last weekend in Las Vegas.” Over 450 exhibitors were present at the show throughout the exhibit hall, the Galleria and The Suites.
